Most Christians talk about faith without rally knowing what faith is all about. They talk about faith but can’t really give a definition of faith. Some of the Christians say that they have faith but from the events that take place in their lives and how they approach such events show that they little or even nothing about faith. Your faith is a fake one if you think you have it but you don’t even know anything about it.
What is faith? The bible says in the book of Hebrews chapter 11 from verse 1 through 6 that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. And by faith many great men such as Moses, Abraham, King David and so on recorded great exploits. It then shows that faith is a powerful tool in the hands of any Christian that lives by it.
No wonder the same bible made it clear that the just, talking about the real Christian, shall live by faith. So a Christian is expected to live a life of faith each day of his life. A Christian is supposed to eat by faith, sleep by faith, drink by faith, go to the market by faith, and do everything that relates to his or her life by faith.
In the book of James chapter 1 from verse 6 and chapter 5 from verse 13 through 15 make it clear that prayer that is not backed up by faith is nothing. Surprisingly, James chapter 2 from verse 17 through 24 states that faith is not alive if there is no work attached to it. So it follows that you don’t fold your hands and just be saying that you have faith without taking corresponding actions.
Therefore, there are two kinds of faith: living faith and dead faith. Living faith is the faith with corresponding actions. Dead faith is the faith that lacks the corresponding actions.
