Pillows, Pillows, and More Pillows

Does your living room need that extra little spark? Pillows just may be the thing you're looking for. there are many ways you can use them. The traditional use of putting them on the couch is still one of the most effective ways to make your room pop. If the pop is what your needing then go with a color that contrasts with the other colors in the room.

For instance if your family room is done in neutrals and your couch is brown, something bright like orange, could change the whole feel of the room. Don't be afraid to pop all over the room try pillows in the chairs, daybeds or anywhere someone might lounge around and need one. If those bright colors are scary to you ( my husband would have a heart attack if I put red in a room, too far out of his comfort zone. ) instead of picking a contrast color, pick a color in the palette you already have going in the room. If you have a pattern with blue in it that you really like then use it in other areas of the room. Blue pillows on the couch, blue pillows in the window seat. You can even use large pillows on the floor for extra seating.

If blue is what your using you can use several different shades of blue to mix it up a bit. And don't forget your bed when your looking for things that love lots of pillows. A few extra ones on the bed can really help achieve that luxurious feel of a nice motel.

Experiment with mixing different patterns and colors. When needing a change and not ready to paint again, try changing the pillows it's sometimes the perk you need!
